The River Thames


The River Thames is 346 kilometres long. It flows from the source at Kemble, near Cirencester, and ends in the North Sea near Southend-on-Sea, in Essex.

  1. London is my favorite city on earth. The home of my heart. I recently visited the Museum of London (for the third time) and realized I had missed the section on how the Thames originally had a very different course, long ago when there was still a land bridge from England to France.

  3. One of our favourite places to walk in the world is along the Thames. In 2017, we walked the North and South Banks between Tower Bridge to Westminster Bridge. Always something interesting to see. Never saw it with snow. Love the snowy benches. Allan
